macOS Configuration Profile, What is this?
A configuration profile is a special file that can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Portal. Once you’ve downloaded a configuration profile and installed it on your device, that device is authorized to download the latest macOS beta from Apple’s servers over the air.
The developer profile is usually released first and then the Public Beta. Therefore the developer beta will also have more bugs. People usually prefer to install the Developer Beta profile because it's released first, but if you don't want to risk a lot, install the Public beta profile.
